Southeast Europe, One Last look

Below is a short wrap-up of my trip to Southeast Europe, through parts of northern Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, beginning and ending in Istanbul. This should have been posted months ago...lazy me.

A street scene in Thessaloniki, Greece reflected in the window of a store specializing in icons.

So much graffiti in Greece, much of it pretty sophisticated.

In Greece, the cats rule.

Alas, poor John. I saw so many versions of this.

A curious goat in Albania.

Oh, those Albanian mountains!

Excavating a Roman ruin in Ohrid, Macedonia.

Long-necked, two-stringed traditional instruments on display in Skopje, Macedonia.

I was fascinated by this building in Prizren, Kosovo. So old, so wobbly-looking, yet still in use.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried to count the minarets in Istanbul.
